You can find WebSocket API client at the software installation folder, by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sumix\MaxInspect\Docs.
How can I integrate Sumix microscopes with other equipment on the production line?
Please check our Integration Tools page to see the options we offer.
How can I connect the probe to my PC? Do I need an external power supply?
Manta series microscopes require no external power source, just a USB 3.0 port of a computer, laptop, or tablet, and a supplied cable.
How can I choose the tips I need?
Find the appropriate tips by using the filter options on Microscope's accessories page, or simply contact the Sumix sales team with a list of your connector inspection requirements.
How to change parameters of inspection?
To change inspection parameters please do the following:
In the MaxInspect software go to the Task Management section > right-click the task and press Edit > Calculation Parameters tab > press Duplicate. You can then customize your calculation parameters and Pass/Fail Criteria as needed.
For more details, see MaxInspect User Guide > Editing Tasks section.
Can I use my Manta microscope in a benchtop application?
Sure, the resolution of Manta Series microscopes is suitable for benchtop applications. We recommend ordering a special cradle (stand) for your Manta microscope for more convenient stationary operation.
Does a Manta microscope itself give any indication of a test result?
Test results appear both on the MaxInspect software screen and via the microscope's LED indicator, where green is for Pass results and red is for Fail results.
What standards are used for Pass/Fail criteria in MaxInspect™?
MaxInspect™ Pass/Fail criteria are based on IEC standards for different zones A, B, C and D on the connector endface. These criteria are stored in presets. MaxInspect™ software also allows you to define your own Pass/Fail criteria by creating new presets.
I want my Manta to automatically autofocus before each measurement. Is that possible?
Yes, you can enable autofocusing function for the test knob on Manta+V2, Manta-W+ and Manta HM by editing task parameters. Right-click on an anomalies detection task, then choose to Edit the Task, go to Scan Parameters and check "Use measure button or knob for autofocus and measurement". Now, autofocusing will precede each measurement automatically.
Why do I see only a part of connector endface?
You may try increasing field of view by setting bigger viewport size in the MaxInspect™ software. Auto Tune Image button adjusts the viewport size automatically.
I need to print out measurement results. Is there an easy way to do it in MaxInspect™?
You can easily print out measurement results using reports in MaxInspect™. You can save results in PDF or Excel formats and store them for future reference.
Do I need to calibrate Manta probe?
Manta series microscopes are factory-calibrated and do not require further adjustment or calibration at the customer’s site. Due to the specific design, no change in optical magnification is expected throughout the device's lifetime unless the unit has been opened (disassembled), repaired, or refurbished.
If, according to your company’s internal policy, an updated verification/calibration certificate is required, we can perform testing and verification at our facility and provide a renewed factory calibration report.
For periodic verification of Sumix microscopes, we recommend using our verification artifact MNT-REF-2.5/PC-1UM (requires a 2.5 mm PC tip).
The MNT-REF-2.5/PC-1UM is manufactured in accordance with IEC 61300-3-35 Ed. 3 recommendations and validates the microscope’s capability to detect scratches as small as 1 µm in width.
I need to keep measurement results. How can I protect them from occasional deletion or data corruption?
You can define your own location for storing inspection results in Application Settings > Results Handling page in MaxInspect™
How do I store and maintain the Manta probe when not in use?
During periods of non-use the protection cap should be mounted on the probe barrel to protect its optical components.
To ensure good working condition of your Manta series microscope, you need to clean the following items from time to time:
Check Microscopes Hardware User Guide > Device Maintenance section for more details.
